Real quick update, a friend of mine hooked me up with a brilliant music track for Jupiter Scope, so please download again!
Check out the 2nd playable version of Jupiter Scope:

Nearly finished, just a few more things to fix/implement. Been fun so far, can’t believe I’ve managed to get this much done in under 2 weeks.

Good amount of temp/missing assets in there and the gameplay is pretty rough but overall it’s a fairly good representation of how I want the game to be. Eventually there will be additional enemies and better rhythm to their attacks, just need to actually take some time and program the waves. Getting it to this point has kicked my ass over the last 3 or 4 days, but I’m pretty happy with the results so far.
The Action 52 Owns remake project popped up over the weekend and sounded too amazing not to be involved, so I threw my hat in the ring picking up Jupiter Scope. So far I’ve managed to recreate the gameplay of the original (took about 2 hours…) and started working on some custom systems to control wave density, timing, and enemy variation. The goal is to have the game finished in about 2 weeks, so I have to work pretty quickly through this part to get the game completely playable in the next few days.
Since there really isn’t that much to the overall game concept, I want to leave a good amount of time to really push the art and sound side and give the remake it’s own style. I’ll try and post a playable version in the next few days once I have all the start/end/death code in so you can play all the way through.
